Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Acdc Appliance Repair collects when you call our referral line or visit this website, how that information is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain English. If something here is unclear, Call +1-855-636-0185 and ask.
1. Who We Are
Acdc Appliance Repair is a free referral service. When you call, our dispatchers listen to what is going on with your appliance and route your call to an independent local appliance repair contractor who serves your area. We do not perform repairs, we do not employ the technicians who do the work, and we do not supervise or control how any job is done. The contractor you are connected with is a separate business with its own policies, including its own privacy practices.
In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" mean Acdc Appliance Repair. "You" means anyone who calls our line or uses this website. "Contractor" means the independent business that receives your call.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to route your call and run the referral line. Depending on how you reach us, that may include:
- Your phone number and caller ID name. These come through automatically when you call, the same way they show up on any phone.
- Call details. The date, time and length of your call, and the number you dialed.
- Your general location or ZIP code. When you tell us where the appliance is, we use that to find a contractor who works in your area.
- Appliance and problem details. The type of appliance, the brand or model if you know it, and what it is doing, such as a refrigerator that stopped cooling, a washer that will not drain, or a dryer that runs but stays cold.
- Call recordings. Where the law permits, and with notice at the start of the call, calls may be recorded. See Section 5.
- Website usage data. Pages you view, the links you click, how long you stay, the type of browser and device you use, and the page that sent you here.
- Cookies and analytics data. Small files and similar tools that help us understand how the site is used and which ads lead to calls.
- Approximate location from your IP address. Your internet connection gives a rough idea of your city or region. We do not use it to find your exact address.
We do not ask for payment card numbers, bank details, or government ID numbers on the referral line. Payment for any repair is handled directly between you and the contractor.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Route your call and connect you with an independent contractor who serves your location and handles your type of appliance.
- Pass along the details of your problem so you do not have to repeat the whole story twice.
- Review calls for quality assurance and to train our dispatchers.
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam calls, abuse of the line, and misuse of the website.
- Measure which advertising and web pages lead to calls, so we can decide where to spend our ad budget.
- Keep the website working properly and fix technical problems.
- Meet our legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only in the following ways:
- With the independent contractor who receives your call. This is the whole point of the referral line. The contractor receives your phone number and the details you shared so it can talk with you, schedule a visit and quote the work. Once the contractor has your information, its own privacy practices apply.
- With call-tracking and telephony vendors. These companies provide the phone numbers, call routing, call recording and call reporting tools that make the line work. They may only use your information to provide those services to us.
- With analytics and advertising providers. These providers help us understand website traffic and measure whether our ads lead to calls.
- As required by law. We may disclose information to respond to a subpoena, court order or other legal process, to protect the rights and safety of callers or others, or to investigate fraud.
- In a business transfer. If Acdc Appliance Repair is sold, merged or reorganized, caller information may transfer to the new owner, who must follow this policy for information collected under it.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some state consumer privacy laws treat certain uses of cookies and advertising tools, such as showing you ads on other websites based on your visit here, as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out of that kind of targeted advertising by calling us and asking, by adjusting the cookie settings in your browser, by turning on a browser-level opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control where supported, and by using the opt-out tools offered by industry advertising groups.
5. Call Recording Notice
Calls to and through our referral line may be recorded and monitored. When a call is recorded, you will hear a notice at the start of the call. If you do not want the call recorded, you can tell the dispatcher, hang up, or choose not to continue. Recordings are used for quality assurance, dispatcher training, resolving disputes about what was said, and preventing fraud. We do not record calls where the law does not allow it, and we follow the notice and consent rules that apply to the call.
6. TCPA and Telephone Communications
We respect the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the rules that go with it. Here is how phone and text contact works:
- Calls you place. When you dial our number, you are starting the call. We use your number to route that call and connect you with a contractor.
- Callbacks and texts only with consent. If a call drops, or you ask us to call you back, we may call or text the number you called from. We will only send automated calls or text messages, including appointment reminders or follow-ups, if you have given consent to receive them.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You never have to agree to receive calls or texts in order to use the referral line or to hire a contractor.
- How to opt out. Reply STOP to any text message from us, or tell the dispatcher on any call that you do not want to be contacted again. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply to texts.
- Internal do-not-call list. We keep an internal do-not-call list. Once you ask to stop, your number is added to it, and we will not call or text you again except as the law allows, such as to confirm your request.
The independent contractor who receives your call may contact you directly about your job. Contact from the contractor is governed by its own policies. If you want a contractor to stop contacting you, tell the contractor directly, and you can also call us so we can note the request.
7. How Long We Keep Information
We keep call records, recordings and website data only as long as we need them for the purposes described in this policy, such as routing calls, quality review, resolving disputes, fraud prevention, advertising measurement and legal compliance. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove the details that identify you. Some records may be kept longer when the law requires it or when they relate to an open dispute or investigation.
8. How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. Access to call records and recordings is limited to the people and vendors who need it to run the line. We require our vendors to protect the information they handle for us. No phone system or website is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission, but we take the responsibility seriously and review our practices over time.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, state consumer privacy laws may give you some or all of the following rights:
- Access. Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correction. Ask us to fix personal information that is wrong.
- Opt out. Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale or sharing of personal information as those terms are defined by law, and certain kinds of profiling.
How to make a request. Call +1-855-636-0185 and tell the dispatcher you want to make a privacy request. We will ask for enough information to confirm your identity, usually the phone number you called from and the approximate date of the call, so we do not hand your information to someone else. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you, and we may ask for proof that the agent is acting on your behalf. If we deny a request, we will explain why, and where state law gives you the right to appeal, you can call the same number to start an appeal.
No discrimination. We will not deny you service, treat you differently, or offer you a worse referral experience because you exercised any of these rights.
10. Children's Privacy
The referral line and this website are meant for adults arranging appliance service for their homes, rentals or businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, call us and we will delete it.
11. Links to Third-Party Sites
This website may link to sites we do not run, such as appliance manufacturer pages, utility safety pages, or a contractor website. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. Read their privacy policies before you share information with them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our practices, vendors or the law change. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make it reasonably clear on the website. Your continued use of the referral line or website after an update means the updated policy applies going forward.
13. Contact Us
The fastest way to reach us with a privacy question or request is by phone. The referral line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
